
If there’s anything this project thought me, it’s that patterns are amazing.
And also, good lighting matters.
But something else it thought me, something really, really important I wish I learned long ago– it’s okay to redo a render. When the lighting are bad the first time, or when the textures just aren’t right. Do not give up on the project. Try again.
Another, not-so-serious life-lesson this thought me was that you can use Adobe Capture to generate normal maps from some free texture you find somewhere. You can even blend edges to make it seamless! And it is completely free.
